SAMS - Shipment Administration and Management System Glovill Systems Available For Internet Processing

SAMS - Shipment Administration and Management System   is   a   client/server   facility  designed  for streamlined control of small packages and letters within a facility  or  organization. The system maintains  a  database which is used by the  shipping  department  to plan the preparation  of  the shipments, manifesting, and carrier pick up.  Authorized individuals record the request  for  shipment  and  identify the receiving party and  proper expense authorization.   Each shipment is issued  an  authorization control number. Throughout the day the  shipping  department  can schedule pick up  of  the requests and print the necessary  shipping  documents  which  are  matched  to the requests.    The  system guarantees  that only properly documented requests are shipped.

SAMS  maintains the shipping information in  an  operational database  and  will  issue daily    manifests  for  UPS/RPS,  FedEx, DHl,  and  other  carriers.  After shipment is accomplished the data is retained in  the   distribution database.   A  fully  costed  and allocated  shipment   is   also  transferred  to  the   TIM2   (Transportation   Information Management 2)  system  for  accruals,  audit  service guarantee audit, and  payment  of the freight invoice.
